Mrs. Nancy Piercy and Mrs. Wendy Scarsellone’s 4th and 5th Grade GATE students were invited to compete in a week long challenge in our CAN YOU BUILD IT 2018 Summer Scholars Challenge. They learned about structures and what shapes were most sturdy then were challenged to use only 2 yards of Duct Tape, 25 sheets of newspaper and 5 paper towel tubes to construct a structure that would hold as many dictionaries as possible. They received 2 points per inch of height and 10 points per each dictionary that was supported by the structure for at least 10 seconds.
