Assistant Principals Corner – LaCrosse Elementary

Hello and welcome to La Crosse Elementary! I am truly fortunate to have worked for Mecklenburg County Public Schools for 29+ years and especially blessed to work at La Crosse Elementary. I hold an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education PreK-5, a Master’s in Literacy and Culture, a Reading Specialist Endorsement and an Administrative and Supervision PreK-12 Endorsement. My educational career includes being a Title 1 teacher, kindergarten, first, second, and fourth grade teacher as well as a Reading Specialist.

My vision at La Crosse Elementary is to work closely with Mrs. Puckett, our principal, to create an effective learning environment where students will be grounded in meaningful instruction and adaptable skills in order to prepare students to be productive members of an ever changing society. I believe every student should be afforded the best educational opportunities to grow and thrive to his or her ability. By maintaining a safe, positive, and orderly environment, students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and physically through structured routines and procedures. By creating a partnership between school, family, and community, the students are fully supported and encouraged to develop their unique and diverse learning styles. By forming a school environment which promotes teamwork, respect, and independence while fostering to every learner, students learn to work together thoughtfully and respectfully to achieve common and individual goals. By employing the most highly qualified teachers who will work to promote academic growth using best practices and ongoing professional development while aligning instruction to current state curriculum, students receive meaningful instruction which is challenging, yet achievable.

We strive to offer your child the most successful elementary educational opportunity possible.

Best Regards,
Mrs. Candace Adcock
