Mecklenburg County Public Schools will open on a one-hour delay Friday, January 24th.
All drivers should take advantage of this delay by allowing for some additional time for the drive to school.
Breakfast will be served, and the lunch schedule will be as normal.


Due to icy conditions on many secondary roads within the county, schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, January 23, 2025.
12 month employees should report at 10 A.M.


Division Spelling Bee was tonight at MCPS central office. Beckett White represented Clarksville Elementary School. All of the spellers across the division did an amazing job! We are so proud of all of them!

Clarksville Elementary School had two Super Staff Members of the month for January - Mrs. Brooke Inge and Mrs. Melissa McQuain. They were chosen in a vote by fellow co-workers based on the allow criteria: Adaptability- recognize the staff memebr who is an adapability ninja~always willing to help with changes, modification, is okay and ready to assist when plans change. Congratulations Mrs. Inge and Mrs. McQuain!



Schools and offices will be open on regular schedule tomorrow (Wednesday, January 15, 2025).

Schools and offices WILL be closed tomorrow. Monday will be considered a "remote day". As you know, students were sent home Friday with assignments in the event that schools would be closed Monday (January 13th). Students MUST submit their completed assignments immediately upon returning to school to be considered "PRESENT" during the remote day."

We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Heather Gwaltney has been named the 2026 Teacher of the Year at Clarksville Elementary School!
As our dedicated Art teacher, Mrs. Gwaltney was chosen by her colleagues for her unwavering positivity and her willingness to assist everyone around her. A proud graduate of Central of Lunenburg, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Longwood University and has spent the past 8 years enriching the lives of our students at Mecklenburg County Public Schools.
Mrs. Gwaltney has a genuine passion for art and has successfully worked with a diverse range of students, including those in our advanced GATE Art program. Additionally, she spearheads the Sunshine and Hospitality Committee alongside her fellow teachers and serves on the Christian Education Committee at Perseverance Church. Outside of school, she enjoys crafting, drawing, and spending time outdoors.
Let’s all take a moment to congratulate Mrs. Gwaltney on this well-deserved recognition!
