Dear Parent/Guardian,

As you may know, the CDC has approved and now recommends that children between the ages of 5 and 11 years receive the Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric COVID-19 Vaccine. The vaccine for children is one third the dosage of the adult dose and will have an orange cap.

The Southside Health Department received 900 doses of the vaccine and distributed them equally among South Boston Pediatrics-Halifax County, South Hill Family Medicine-Mecklenburg County, and Dr Ackerman-Brunswick County. The Health Department did not keep any doses to administer. They will keep a list of parents who are interested in receiving the vaccine for their child and will order doses as needed.

If you are interested in getting a COVID-19 vaccine for your child, please see below.
