La Crosse Elementary School

A big “thank you” to Miss Daviney Dunn who spent all summer collecting aluminum tabs. Ms. Shannon Willis takes these tabs and donates them to The Ronald McDonald house in Charlottesville. With the help of people like Daviney, the recycling funds of these tabs help offset the expenses so that parents and families are able to stay in a nice, safe, family oriented environment while their child is being medically treated at a local hospital.

Miss. HIte and Mrs. Wartman’s class have been busy with several activities this week. They read If You Give a Dog a Doughnut for the letter, D and decorated their own doughnuts. They are also learning about squares and enjoyed practicing different types of breathing exercises they read about with Mrs. Puryear and Mrs. Walsh.

Staff and their children participated in Prayer at the Pole this morning with Mr. Wayne Guynn, the pastor for Olive Branch Baptist Church leading the prayer.

Students were surprised on Thursday, September 19th with a Rock Your School day which was full of fun activities for kids and adults alike. A rockin’ day was had by all!
