The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is announcing a statewide event that will provide free, one-on-one assistance for Virginia students and families applying for financial aid in the pursuit of postsecondary education.
Students and families are invited to receive assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the new Virginia Alternative State Aid (VASA) application for Virginians who are not eligible to file a FAFSA application, at Virginia’s first statewide FAFSA/VASA Pop-Up Party.
The event will be held in Richmond, Virginia, at the Dewey Gottwald Center, located behind the Science Museum of Virginia, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Participants can enjoy food, fun, and music along with an Opportunities Fair to learn about local colleges, universities, and community organizations that support student success. Prizes and scholarships will be awarded throughout the event. In addition, all attendees will receive free admission to the Science Museum of Virginia. Registration is strongly encouraged but not required. For registration and additional information on the event, please visit the Virginia College Access Network website.
