Mecklenburg County Public Schools believe we can safely open schools with face to face instruction four days a week and one day a week virtual learning. We will take precautions to prevent the spread of the virus. Students may be required to wear face coverings for at least some portion of the day, and we will practice proper hygiene. Adults will wear face coverings when they need to be closer than six feet to a student or other adult. We want to minimize transmission and we believe face to face instruction may be done in this manner.

We understand there may be families who do not want their student(s) to attend school in a face to face model for any number of reasons. We offer to engage with these students through a virtual/computer-based model of instruction.
We know you may still have many questions. We are working to share more information about this plan on our website and social media.
We need your help in planning. IF YOU WANT YOUR STUDENT(S) TO LEARN VIRTUALLY THIS FALL, we need you to call us and let us know. If you do not call us, we will assume your child(ren) will be returning for face to face instruction.
Please call us at (434) 447-3435 to let us know if your student(s) will access school virtually only this fall by 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16.  Our summer office hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:45 to 4:45.
